So I currently shoot 100 grain Ramcats. I've been thinking about switching to a German kinetics or Silver flames from Alaskan Bowhunting supply. Maybe even moving to 125 grain. I ruled out Solid broadheads because after multiple phone calls and voicemails to the guy (Tim I believe is his name from S and S archery) I didn't get a response/call back, nothing, so I really don't see the point in supporting a company like that. Also saw that Trophy taker just designed a premium and unique broadhead (not a true 2 blade though).

I've heard some complaint about 2 blade heads though, stuff like planing really bad, dont fight wind very well.

Anyway, anyone have any recommendations or experience with these heads or similar ones?

Another head to look at is VPA. Their heads are very high quality. I had a component incompatibility issue with some of their original heads (very slightly off of AMO diminsions, which has long since been corrected), and the owner was nothing short of fantastic to deal with.

Matt is correct. Look at VPA and never look back. They are machined out of one solid block of steel. Nothing stronger. Very easy to sharpen. I'm close to 75 animals with them now and not a single complaint. Buy from www.rayzor-VPA.com and Ray will take good care of you. Hell of a lot cheaper than German Kinetics too!

The original German Kinetic Silverflames fly awesome! Even at long range. I'm sure the newer GK's are good too. I wouldn't bother with the ABS ones. I tried some of theirs and the steel sucks. They aren't anywhere near as sharp, and won't resharpen worth a crap.

I have always had better arrow flight with my two blades than with any three or 4 blade broad head for that matter. I have shot Magnus stingers in the past with great arrow flight but the blades are to flimsy for me. I am now shooting Strickland Helix and love them. Blood thick blades and great arrow flight.

I've been greatly impressed with Steelforce broadheads. Ive used the Phathead specifically for three years now. Awesome flight, great blood, easy to tune.

I am shooting the GK 125XL (1.5") and they fly as good as any head I have ever shot. I shoot them to 60 yards. I have always the thought the slick tricks fly as good as any head out there but the GK are every bit as accurate if not better out of my setup. As stated above, you will be shocked how they great fly. The are a premium head that is worth every penny.

I have been shooting the original GK 100g since they came out. I have absolutely no complaints, great heads. Best flying head I have shot.

Thanks for all the feedback guys! Those of you that recommended the VPA heads, you must be referring to the penetrator series? From what I can see that is the only 2 blade the make.

Correct. Their 2 blades are called Penetrator. Made in nearly every weight imaginable.

Steve at S and S is a great guy, and only a one man shop bud. I'm sure he's out hunting and not ignoring your calls. There are a number of places to get solid broadheads. Steve designed them, and I've shot them. They're amazing.

I've heard that as well and I understand. From my perspective though, if you're running a business and you're not returning phone calls/answering phone calls, then you will get my business. We're not talking days, we're talking a month since my last voicemail and still no response. That tells me hes not interested in my business. It gives me concerns about buying his product if I ever needed his assistance in the future.

They may be great broadheads and he may be a great guy, but I'm going to with someone who is willing to sell me their product and answer questions about.

No Hard feelings

That's fine. My point was that there are a number of places to buy it besides from steve. He sold the broadhead design to the archery group (elite archery et. al.) so he's just a dealer like any other shop now - albeit a lot more familiar with it.

I should also qualify the previous... That's what I was told by one of his personal acquaintances, but I did not discuss the Solid business with him last time I saw him. Steve can correct me if I'm wrong.

My brother just zipped buzzcuts through a couple whitetail does this past weekend and their reaction to the arrow passing through them was like a mosquito bit them. They just calmly walked off, 30 and 40 yds, and fell over. It was amazing. 1 was shot through the scapula too.

Just spent my first week with 100 grain solid broad heads.

Bottom line, they are now my head of choice. I've shot slick tricks and Exodus heads a lot, and these simply group tighter and penetrate (foam) deeper for me.

Totally worth the coin IMO.

Really? $80 for a 3 pack?

Would love to try them but with so many other proven BH's on the market that fly great, are accurate and tough, at over half the price, that will not happen soon. that is until they become more price competitive.
