Just got my bikini framed high camp 4800 yesterday. What a heck of a wait! There are a few things I wasn't sure about when I ordered it. First off, I was surprised that the bag is just one big compartment. For some reason I was thinking the sleeping bag compartment was separated. I actually prefer it just be one big bag as the bottom entry seems to allow easy access to anything I'd need to get to. Using a hanging meat bag it will mean I can get all my stuff from the bottom. The zipper Kifaru uses is great too. It has a good feel to it and doesn't get hung up at all. Very nice. Also, I never understood how the three bar sliders worked. Man, what a nice way to attach stuff. One of the side pockets has two sets of three bar sliders for some reason. Pretty noisy so I'm thinking of cutting one set off.

I also bought a few accessories with the hopes of keeping my usual sloppy self organized. The pullouts I got are awesome for this. The medium UL has my kill kit in it. Small mesh has toiletries and meds. I grabbed a mega UL pullout that I plan on putting clothes and stuff in. Along with a Kifaru UL stuff sack, everything is organized and easy to get to. I was a bit worried that I wouldn't like not having any pockets to put stuff in. After playing with this a bit, I dig it.

The bikini frame is pretty impressive. It's got loops and lash points all over the damn place. A bit overwhelming at first, but after playing with everything and seeing how it works, it really is an amazing piece of gear. I was thinking that setting this pack up for hauling meat in between the frame was a pretty easy step. I wouldn't say it's a piece of cake, but it's a bit more involved than I thought. Good news is, when I end up with meat on the ground, I've got plenty of time to set it up if I decide to go that route. I got a grab it too. Not sure if it will see much use honestly. It seems kinda in the way of the zippered compartment. I like the way it hooks up with the three bar sliders, but would prefer those K-hooks at the top. Hmmm..

Speaking of K-hooks, I'm sold. My MR Bighorn has those heavy duty plastic buckles that are too hard to unbuckle and adjust for my worn out hands. I'm sure every pack maker out there is wishing they had thought of these things. Pretty cool.

I'm preaching to the choir, but I have a feeling y'all don't mind. This things awesome.

Hey sounds great can you pack it out and take some pics, I am trying to decide whether or not I need the 4800 or 7000 ? Thanks James

I hear you on the MR buckles - I cut them all off my Dragonslayer and replaced them with the G-hooks (same thing as a K-hook) from Milspec - night and day difference.

I was in that boat too. I finally decided the small deer around here along with the brush I wanted a the 4800. We do 5-6 days tops and this thing looks to be the perfect size for me. I'll try to get some pics up later this weekend.

Let me preface these pics by stating that I was drinking beer, BBQ'n burgers and watching the Giants game when I loaded the pack. Nothing scientific. The amount of gear in the bag is about as much as I would take on a 5-6 day hunt. Our small blacktails would be a tight fit in the top of the bag using the Gen 2 Meat bag, but I'm pretty sure it would be doable. Worst case scenario, you put the deer between the pack and frame. haul it out and sell the 4,800 for the 7,000. Obviously cursing my name the whole way out for talking you into a 4,800! Haha.

Food and sleeping bag.

Kill kit, water filter, toiletries and meds.

Hammock w/clothes, stove and rain gear in a Mega pullout.

Tryin to show the bag full up with room for beer.

Sorry the pics aren't better. I forgot I had a 6l Dromlite full of water in there too. No optics (I don't pack a spotter, just binos) or 3/4 z-rest. I figure it will go on the bottom.
