Check engine light appeared and the code form that was P0018. I can't see/feel any difference in the engine or gas mileage and the light has come on and gone off a couple of times.

Any of you guys have this with a 1st gen Tundra and if so what was the issue?

P0018 is obd2 standard for camshaft and crankshaft correlation. Its either one sensor is bad, or the wiring to them, or the timing belt. If you just had a timing belt done id have it redone. If the timing belt is well over the 100k change interval i would suspect it lost a tooth somewhere. It is possible for them to slip a tooth and still run if the tensioner is on the fritz. It would be worthwhile to pull the timing inspection port covers and verify timing. I dont know how long you have owned it, but ive seen several times at the dealership where someone will skip timing belt replacements till about 220,000 miles and then sell it to someone unsuspecting.

Thanks for the information. Believe it or not I bought the truck brand new in September 2005. It has 359,000 miles and my goal is to make it to 500K. I’m gonna reach out to a buddy of mine who used to be a mechanic and get his thoughts on the situation. Thanks again for the reply.

Thats a good run. A lot of these engines have hit 500k as im sure you know. There are a bunch in the middle east that have hit 1 million km.
