Are they as good eats as is claimed?
Yeah I was pretty shocked. My brother used the 156 and it really didn’t do much damage luckily. But yeah next time will be different. I’ll aim behind the shoulder way more and I’ll be using a different bullet. Using the 147s now and they have been surprisingly good on deer this past year.Congratulations on a nice pronghorn.
That's crazy how much damage that bullet did. I shoot mine with a 300 win mag, using a 220 grain eldx bullet and never have seen near that much damage.
It’s really not bad at all. Better than Mule deer from what I remember. It’s crazy how thick the hides are and the fat. Once that’s off you’ll be like dang, that’s all the meat lol. But we plan on going back to the same place once we get points again and can draw. And hoping we get a doe tag as well for next time.If processed quickly and properly they rival elk. They have extremely thick hides which retain a lot of heat, so bear that in mind.
