95 my brother (original owner) sold to me for $1!!! 195k miles on it a year or so ago, up to 199k now. Fun but man is it hurting while going up CO slopes. Needs a little work now, can't wait to get into it as weather warms. Ya'll have inspired me to get after it

Y'all are making me miss my 4runner I had once upon a time. It was a 3rd gen but was a great hunting vehicle while I had her. Best of luck OP and keep up updated on your progress.

Looks like you have some leaf spring sag in the rear.

That whole generation had leaf spring sag soon into ownership. But in 34 years it hasn't really been an issue other than looks.

How on earth did that rig come without the cup holder? I thought all of the '89-'95's had them.

As for the jumper wire, I just keep a paperclip in the glove box. It works.

A new set of decent leaf springs will only run you $300. I see a lot of these on the road in CO and don’t notice sag being a consistent issue.

I lied. I discovered the crappy little cup holder that slides out above the radio this morning. Forgot that Toyota had those but you’re better off not using them unless you like coffee spilled everywhere

Congratulations on the sweet 4runner!!! I'm a Toyota junkie myself and the 2nd Gen 4runner is my weakness haha. I've had mine for several years and still making upgrades as I go. Mines a 95 but we scored a fairly clean 90 that we're going completely through for my oldest son. He just turned 14 so he's getting pretty anxious to get it done haha. If it still has the factory crossover pipe on the back of the heads get rid of it solve your future head gasket problems

Nice man I’m in love with this thing. Do you have photos of the crossover pipe you’re referencing?

We had one of those for years. Only issues were the head gasket and radiator. Gasket was done under their recall, the new ones had a metal edge and worked well iirc. The radiator just rusted out along the top, was an easy replacement. Under powered, but capable rig.
