Keep your thumb on top of the safety while firing. Now that I’ve flipped to the dark side. Who makes a 19x style 1911. Looking for a full size frame with a 4” slide.
I noticed this weekend shooting FS grip of the staccato and Tisas are much nicer than the shortened STI guardian grip. The additional 1/2”
Keeps my hands down on the grip and I am not jamming my thumb into the safety.

The irony of that statement in this land of pea shooters and 9mm 1911’s is rich!Unless it's a big-bore. Then it's cool. Must start with a .5 though.

For the brain trust: who does front strap checkering? 20lpi? 30lpi? Did they re-blue? Or a different finish? How has it held up?
Unless you just love checkered straps(I do) throw some tape on. I have both. Checking is awesome from the factory. After factory probably still awesome but yeah you’ll be into a refinish too.

Following on from @RockAndSage, I think 1911 Syndicate had a video where he had a pistol with 20 LPI and it cut his hands up a bit ...For the brain trust: who does front strap checkering? 20lpi? 30lpi? Did they re-blue? Or a different finish? How has it held up?
It can definitely be too aggressive and sharp. Mine with factory checked straps are Baer and colt. Both are just right, not too sharp but grippy.Following on from @RockAndSage, I think 1911 Syndicate had a video where he had a pistol with 20 LPI and it cut his hands up a bit ...
Did we have a seperate pistol drill thread going or was that a phase of this thread that petered out?
Seems like it's time to get all these new pistols doing drills and take a break from all this accessorizing.
