1911’s in general, 9mm versions specifically

How would you actually do that - clocking the grip screws precisely?
Yep. It's a thing. High-end makers such as Alchemy/Cabot do it for all of theirs.

As far as I can tell, it's something for true believers / enthusiasts ...or dilettantes. Hard to tell the difference sometimes.

A bit like this ... which is not safe for work:

Does this end as a Snuff film? Hooded men dancing! WTH? I don’t know if I feel violated or want to vote democrat now.

I am going to grab a whiskey before the weirdness creeps in.

Picked up a Tisas 9mm Duty about 4 years ago for $350. Put it in the safe and didn't shoot it till last year. Came across the thread a few months back and realized I hadn't bought a complete dumpster fire of a pistol. I've put about 300 rounds of cheap steel case ammo through it and zero malfunctions. Just put the Wilson checkered front strap and pretty excited to put some more rounds through it.

The band is called TISM - they always performed in masks. The point of the link was the lyrics, not the visuals ...

I didn't even realize there was lyrics. I was too entranced by the odd video and it had me thinking it was actually an exercise video before things got out of hand haha
Video-free link for the crayon eaters who need it to help focusing on the lyrics:

Now can we get back to discussing 1911s?

I have nothing particularly helpful to add, except that if you get a Tisas Raider, you can order Zebrawood grips from Wood Caliber that approximate the coloration of the original M45A1. Boom.

But, if you think about it, this is pretty bass-ackwards: sourcing wooden grips to put on a Turkish 1911 to approximate the look of the original G10 ...

I’ll try to get us back on track. I recently stumbled onto this video while wasting time on YouTube one night. Thought it was really interesting to see how all the parts work together, especially how the grip safety and thumb safety block the trigger in different ways.

I got my magwell, and new trigger fitted.
Case of ammo and the extended Wilson mags showed up today.
Next I need to track down a decent holster, and start practicing for some spring USPSA single stack div outings.

I can’t thank you guys enough for everyone who provided info in this thread.

Why wait til spring?! Make it 2 or 3 of us in SS instead of the usual 1 or 2 😂
Though I'll probably be shooting Limited 10 in a couple months, getting my 9mm 1911 cut for a dot as we speak 😈
