1911’s in general, 9mm versions specifically

Im still following this thread, lol, along with 5 or 6 others, changing my mind daily on my next "project" but I think Tisas has changed some specs for this year. They now list the 3 dot sights as being Novak and they only have one pic slot in the dust cover.

Tisas USA, Carry B9R Double Stack, Single Action, Semi-automatic, Steel Frame Pistol, Carry Size, 9MM, 4.25" Bull Barrel, Cerakote Finish, Black, Rail, Fiber Optic Front and Low Profile Combat Rear Sights, 17 Rounds, 2 Magazines

  • Bushing-Less Bull Barrel
  • RMSc/K Slide Cuts for Optics
  • Universal Accessory Rail
  • Ambidextrous Safety
  • Novak Style 3-Dot
Course this link is from a store on my way home Range USA, and is a little different than the link to Tisas. Tisas

Found one of these for sale 2nd hand. Looks like it’s had a grand total of 2 boxes put through it.

>>Short trigger, magwell, and bulletproof extractor?<<
Is that the general consensus on worthwhile upgrades for this beauty?
So YOU'RE the one who got this? 😂
I texted the guy who sold this this morning, but just a bit too late apparently lol

Man, that is a damn good-looking gun. Yes to all three, btw, given the functionality upgrades they provide, but you'll need to add extensions on the bottoms of the mags (or get longer mags) to use the mag well. If you really want to push the gun hard, maybe consider some grip tape on the front strap. Ideally, gunsmith checkering, but grip tape is pretty good in that application.

Nice score.

@Bluumoon gave us a good lead on wooden grip panels a few posts above.

Brownells also have Pachmayr-brand wood panels for less than $30, which have worked well for me in the past.

Thanks man, those wood caliber grips look great, but everything seemed sold out when I was looking through their website.

I have a bunch of Alaskan black walnut from a gunstock project. I’d love to see if I can make my own.

I think the in-stock is just for those who want instant product ... their main focus seems to be on custom orders, which is what I did (and was the same price as the in-stock options, I think). Also means you get the exact wood, grip shape, checkering, etc that you want.

Ah I see. I’ll take another look

I like a magwell, adjust the trigger but leave it as is IMO. Extractor couldnt hurt

I hadn't known Colt ever put out a gun like that - that's a special one, with the buried bo-mars, checkering, and all the other bells and whistles. If they'd done that in the 1980s, they'd have killed Kimber in the cradle, and a bunch of custom smiths.

Colt special combat government is what they are calling it. Looks like the older ones are a bit more plain.

Its my one nice gun. I never would have bought the thing myself. Very happy with it though.....Very very happy
