I’d like to hear any experiences of how 180 grain accubonds performed on elk at magnum velocities (300 wsm minimum) I only have one experience here, but it was only 9-10 yards

I had a 7 mag 168 grain hornady eldx not pass through an elk at 150 yds slightly cornered to me. Killed it within a couple hundred yards, but there was no exit wound.

Last week I shot a 200lb bear in the neck with a 180 accubond at 60 yds. The rifle was a .30-378.

Probably doing 3000fp

I thought it would blow him up like a prairie dog.

.308 going in, golf ball size hole going out.

Needless to say, he died in his tracks.

Just about all my rifles like accubonds. I'm a fan.

Wonderful. Used them from 35 to 650 yards. 180s and 200s. They both fly around 3200 out of a 300 wm and RUM.

If I were to build a round all over again I would use the 200s.

Don't remember velocities, but the 180gr accubond out of my 300wsm has been my favorite combo. Wife and I have killed multiple elk and deer 12 yards out to 475 yards, longest tracking job was about 50 yards.

Here is a 200 grain accubond recovered from a 275 yard shot, next to a Barnes 180 TSX from 605 yards. Both seemed to work just fine. Two shots each. First shot in each were pass through lungs. Second shot each were shoulder breakers where the bullet stopped in fat hide. Both bullets were fired from a Sako finnlight in 300 win mag. Accubond had a MV of 2852, and TSX had a MV of 2918.

Dropped them dead.

Shot a 6x6 a couple years ago, 350 yds with 180 Accubonds out of a 300 WSM X-Bolt. Handloads with MV of 2980. First shot hit a little further back than I wanted, but the shock was enough to keep him from running. He turned around and couldn’t run, high shoulder shot dropped him.
Neither bullet exited, but both were under the hide on the opposite side. I’d estimate 85-90% weight retention with perfect mushroom on both. I was pleased with their performance.
