175 Terminal Ascent or 180 Cutting Edge lazer

Dang, there's no wrong answer among these two. I've shot both on paper with excellent results although the TA's were factory ammo while the CE's were hand loads.

I'm going to try some CE 145s in a 7PRC and 265s in a 338 after season.

I wouldn’t have no concerns using the TA for all my big game hunting needs. I say this from personal experience and that of friends who have harvested a variety of big game animals with them.

I’ve been using the 125 Lazers in 6.5 CM. Not enough results for a full conclusion, but they’ve killed a couple sheep, some deer, and a bear. All results were very good except for one sheep, I was less than impressed on the damage. I may try the Maximus for more fracturing pieces.

Seen a bunch of deer, elk and moose hit with the 160gr trophy bonded tip over the years. The TA is a higher bc version of it with a slightly lower velocity threshold. They penetrate well and hold mass. Narrower wound cavities similar to other bonded’s. I prefer a little more explosion myself.

These were from a cow elk last year. 7rem mag 160grains. 330yrds hard quartering away. Shots were farther back travelling through ribs, lung and was found lodged in the lower neck. Second shot was similar, found inside edge of the scapula.
They will pretty consistently look like this.

I have killed Moose with the 200gr TA (300 WM, 550 yards) with great results. I have also killed Grizzly, Elk and Caribou with a 200gr Lazer (300 PRC, 70 to 250 yards). Both worked great for me in my limited use. I would say use which ever your rifle shoots best.

I’ve used TA and CEB raptor and Maximus, but not the laser.

I’m a big fan of CEB. I think the laser is great for long distance shooting, but for most shots less than 400 you will get more consistent terminal ballistics with new etched Maximus or a tipped raptor.

I've posted these before but this was recovered in the offside hide of a mule deer about 200 yards away from my .308. Not sure about velocity but based on box numbers is should have been about 2200. With your WSM this would be performance at 400
