I have used this in the past. Large bag of oat bran (rice bran is better but can't get it up here), 6 boxes of strawberry jello mix and 3# of brown sugar. Mix it all together (no water in jello mix just dry) in a large tote and put out on ground, stump what ever. Rain will wash it out. Found it to work better in the winter.

golden delicious apples lol
I have had deer literally walk up to apples with me standing barely 10' away....in a wide open mowed hayfield. And they weren't deer in someones yard either they were wild 'out in da boonies' deer. kinda scared me cuz I was unsure why they were so brave.....mad deer disease or sumthin lol

Not homemade, however, used with great success in establishing mineral sites. Champions Choice Trace Mineral Salt, 50# bag at Tractor Supply is $7.49. Dump it on a stump or punky wood. Refresh every few weeks.

Is that something to bring them to the area or hunt over? I've used lucky buck in front of a trail camera in the summer and seemed to help.
