15x56 Conquest HD - tripod mount?

Just got a pair and guess I should have done a little more research, but there is no threaded portion on the front for a tripod mount. Anyone else have a pair of these? if so, what are you doing for a tripod mount? The Zeiss mount is anywhere from $155 to over $200. Ridiculous in my opinion.

Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

If they are new they should be there... The 10x42s have them. They use loktite sometimes to keep it screwed on but they should be there. Is it just a black round plate? There is an old thread on here where someone shows how to drill the cap off and expose the threads.

This makes me VERY nervous. I just bought these and drilling that cap makes me pretty uneasy. If it will work though, I will do it in a heartbeat. Anyone else that can verify this?

Just messed with them a little and it is threaded. Just needed to mess with it a little.

Awesome! Glad to hear! Enjoy... Tripod has made a big difference for me.

Yup they made the cap so you can unscrew it on all the models made in the last year, prior to that it is glued in. Just unscrew and you are ready.

Will do.......I have a tripod and head on the way. as soon as I have a little exposure with it, I will let you know.
