139gr Mono for 7mm-08

A friend gave me a bunch of 139gr mono seconds he picked up (I think from raven rock) and ended up not wanting. Can I get enough muzzle velocity out of my 7mm-08 to work on whitetail or should I just put them in my dad's 7 rem mag?

What makes you concerned that 139gr 7mm-08 wouldn’t be enough for whitetail? It’s more than enough. Every whitetail I’ve shot with 7mm-08 was a pass through and everyone dropped in sight, and they’ve all been 139gr over 41.5gr Varget.

Sorry, meant to say they are copper mono's. I haven't reloaded copper yet but everything I read on them says they like faster speeds.

Just figure out where they drop below 2k fps and you’re good to go out to that distance, or that’s where I draw the line with them anyway. Killed a pile of deer with ttsx’s out of a 7-08, 308 & 270

I’ve never loaded that brand so I can’t speak to it. I would think you should be able to get 2800 MV? How far do you plan on shooting?

I don't know the specific brand but he gave me ~160 of them, so plenty to work up a load. I'm sure I could get 2700-2800 with it after looking through some similar load data

139gr CX is all that I have used.
