I load 125 nosler partitions for my hunting partner and either 120 nosler ballistic tips or 127 Barnes lrx in mine. No complaints, but not the best bullets to stretch out distances either.

127 lrx pair with 129 SST for practice or longer shots.

I still can't wrap my mind around people happily endorsing TMK yet calling a SST " too soft".
I shoot tmks but have nothing negative to say about the sst. Is it harder? My understanding was the 130 eld was a little softer, or at least penetrated a bit less/expanded a bit faster than the 130 tmk. I always just put the sst in with the eld in my mind

I have a 260 Remington and never saw the benefit of going to 140 class bullets. I’ve always shot 130s. 130 Accubond, 127 LRX, 124 Hammer, 130 Berger ar hybrid otm, 130 TGK, and 130 ELDM. The ELDMs are where I landed in my rifle and I’ve killed many many deer and several elk. Not a single issue, they flat out perform. Muzzle is 2840 fps.
130 accubond took several deer and an elk, they are just a little messier than I like in meat and not as good at distance.

130 ar hybrid otm in my Grendel is fantastic at 2400 fps muzzle. Deer and antelope are stacking up with that rifle and bullet.

The 130 AR hybrids have shot awesome for me at the range but I’ve seen some reports of inconsistent terminal performance. Would be hard to not start with the TMK.

I have killed two mule deer bucks with 130gr Gamechangers in 6.5CM. Very accurate and dropped deer in their tracks.

I used 140gr HVLD's for a few years with mostly favorable results but not 100%. I switched to the 130gr otm and found it one of the best terminal performers in the 6.5 Creed. This bull was taken at 640 yards, shot was perfect in the crease and he didn't take a step. Just one example of many of my own and clients bulls and bucks taken with this combo.

130 VLDH at 2730 fps. No complaints accuracy or terminally.

Do you have some experience with both that you can share?
Yes. I have tested the SST at subsonic levels with Titegroup, reduced loads at 1800 fps with Aa5744, and full power loads. They are a softer bullet with higher impact speeds but not so much as target bullets I have shot. Slowed down to the mid-lower 2000 level I really like their performance. Much better than any target bullet. Of course if you slip them behind the should either will work.

127 lrx will expand down to 1800 in my tests but I keep a couple SST loads with me in case a longer shot is needed. My 18 inch 6.5 Creed only manages 2700 fps with 130 class bullets so ~450 is my absolute max range. That's okay, as I am not a long range hunter.

Found a heck of a load with 130 CX out of the 6.5CM. Getting 2900 FPS and shooting around .5” 3 shot group out of the Tikka factory 24” barrel. Nothing taken with them yet but those things are moving and shooting great.

How much expansion did you see at 1800fps?
