Has anyone compared the Athlon Midas g2 12x50 vs the vortex viper HD 12x50?
How would they compare?

I have the athlons but have hAd nothing to compare them to.

FYI:
ATHLON LIFETIME WARRANTY
When things go unexpectedly or accidents happen, rest assured, Athlon Optics carry a lifetime transferable warranty. Athlon guarantees to repair or replace your product if damaged through normal use.

How do you like them?

The glass seems ok to me but I haven’t compared them to anything else. The tripod mount is hard to install with my fingers. I can’t fit my fingers between the barrels very easily so I ihave to use a srew driver.

For some cheap 12’s to use in NRL Hunter I got some Leupold BX-2 Alpine HD 12x52’s and I’ve been pretty impressed by them. Absolutely zero CA and pretty dang good resolution. I know there is likely some sample variation but the pair I got is very good.

Thanks. I have also been looking at the vortex Dimondback HD 15x56. I currently have some Sig zulu5 8x42s so this would be a longer range bino to complement them. I don’t have a spotter. Will use on tripod western hunts.
I understand higher end is better glass is always better, but due to younger kids and time constraints currently don’t have the time or money to make the expense justifiable at this time.

The Vortex are surprisingly good for the price-point. The Vortex lifetime no-fault no-haggle warranty is a game-changer for the money.
Have you compared them side by side with the athlon? I’m also looking between these two and can’t seem to find a lot of side by side comparisons…
