Do the ultravids have a threaded insert for a tripod adaptor?

I don't believe so. I think you either use the Leica bracket or Outdoorsman makes an adapter like they do for the ELs.

Don't know why, they could incorporate it easily into the design. Maybe the diopter adjustment doesn't allow for it.
