I'm looking at going with a 125gr broadhead this year for elk here in az and in colorado. I've been looking at the VPA, Montec or the nap hell razor. Anyone have experience with these or any other suggestions. Thank you.

I like the vpa's a lot. Very impressed with how easy they are to sharpen. With the right tools it takes minutes.

I haven't shot anything with them yet, but Im really liking how the Solids are doing. They are really accurate love the fact I can resharpen them easily.

I tried the VPA 125 vented 1 1/8" heads this year and will go with those. They fly good, I don't hear no noise and they seem to sharpen easily. I however haven't shot anything with them. I've always been impressed with slick tricks and have killed a bunch of animals with them, but thought I'd try a head I wouldn't need to buy replacement blades for.

I may have to give the slick tricks a go. They are tough and I've seen them go thru and elk into bone.

Shuttle T hands down. I only shot slick tricks into my target, but the blades had big chunks broken out when I pulled the arrows. I don't get the hype, never had a head do that.

I've had the blades peel back on the Hell Razors, so take those off your list. Montecs can be harder to sharpen than some others mentioned. VPA heads are good choices, Solids, German Kinetics ($$$) are ridiculously sharp, Dirt Nap makes a good head as well. Personally I shoot a 125 Wac'Em triton right now. It's killed everything I've shot with it, in quick order.

Last 2 elk I killed with QAD Exodus 125... Flew great for me..
This yr I may try Slick Tricks..

The 125 grain Montec has worked amazingly for me. I have used them for 4 years now and have killed 3 elk with them using a 60lbs draw weigh. 2 of them with pass through shots and 1 of them hitting a rib and going right through it into the vitals. Hope this helps

I found some montec that a buddy had, I'm also gonna order a pack of 3 vpa to see how they fly. I have no problem sharpening broadheads, I like that option.

I shoot mechanical and don't make any 125s that I like so I went with a brass insert to add weight and kept the 100 grain head

A little update on this, I went to my local shop today and bought a pack of tooth of the arrow broadheads and a pack of shuttle t broadheads. Gonna see how they fly.
