I have tried to decipher from past posts, but I am hoping someone has experience with both of these optics. I am looking to upgrade my old Bushnells, and am looking at the Maven B1 and the Leupold BX-4 both in 10x42. Are they pretty comparable? Are the Maven's noticeably better to justify the increased cost? Thoughts/comments? Thanks.

I've used both and I like both but I went with the Mavens, I use the 11x45 but looked at the 10x side by side and felt the Mavens were brighter in low light. However, I was comparing last years version of the bx-4, I've heard the new ones are better. Best suggestion would be to find someone that has demo Mavens or order a pair from their demo program Demo Optics | Maven Outdoor Equipment Company Pretty good deal, if you like them you can either keep the demos or send them back for a new pair. Better to check them both out and see which ones fit your use better.

I own the bx4 and the maven b2's. I gave the bx4's to my wife...

I too also own 9x and 11x B2s, as well as 10x B1s, and the 10x42 Leupold Bx4s. Considering the Leupolds are between 1/3rd and 1/2 the price of the Mavens, you would expect the Mavens to be better and I believe they are. The difference I don't think is very much at all and the BX4s are significantly better than anything else I have looked at in their price range. I wouldn't think twice if the Leupolds were my only pair until I got into spending $2k.

I was just going to post a thread asking about the BX-4s. Been looking at the 10x42. Wondering if there is anything in that $500 price range that is comparable?
