If that really is 40 yards, field of view is 8.6'. That makes that goat about 2'7" long and 1'8" from ground to shoulder. Uh huh, big as a deer?

Math in public much? Relook at the pics and tell me how half the FOV at 8.6’ (per you), is 2’7” long.

From front of chest to back of ham, 42”, and weighs over 200 pounds (230lb at last weight). The other goat is about an inch shorter.

Range-

Now are you going to say that you shoot 350lb deer that are 6 feet long?

My son had a fixed 10x for a couple years on his do everything rifle. He killed several big game critters and didn't have any issues with it.

I've shot two deer, an elk and a coyote with a scope set to 9x. Ranges were between 35-60 yds and had no issues. I hunt open country in WA (which is why the scope is usually at 9x) but animals sometimes step right out in front of me.

I'd go with the 10x with no fear until something better comes along.

Your rangefinder has less field of view than your "10x" scope? Yeah, whatever. It's clear my opinion isn't worth anything here. Your credibility is shot with me. I'll just be on my way, it aint worth it.
I’m not sure I understand. Are you alleging he wasn’t using a 10x SWFA for the 2nd and 3rd pictures of the goat in post 43, and/or that his confirmation of the distance with his rangefinder somehow supports that? Is it possible that you might be wrong, at least in part?

I bought my first SWFA in 2013…a 5-20x50. So yeah, they’d already been around a while 10 years ago

There’s an SWFA 3-15 in the classified section, just get that instead if you’re worried about the 10.

I've been reading about SWFA since the late 90's. I had a 12X and traded it. Bought a 10X soon after. They aren't ideal but like someone said earlier the cost is a good reason. I've shot sage rats as close as 10 ft, yes feet, and targets out to 1650 yards. It's personal for me, I'd rather spend $300 on a Japanese scope than CCP scopes. So far they've been tough with repeatable dials. Fairly light too.

Swfa 10x FOV is 11.7ft (@100)

For reference, because I just looked it up out of curiosity,

Looks my my sig 1600 6x RF FOV is 6ft (@100)

Unrelated side note,

Are you by chance buddies with a red neck that rides bmx bikes?

Best I can find online is forum dates from about 2020.
You might not have heard about them 10 years ago because you were hardly old enough to purchase a firearm, given you stated you’re 29 years old in another thread.

They were originally sold to public in 1993, which was before you were born (Source: http://swfa-ss.com/history).
