@Dixie has been working on perfecting a Mini CBK (Canadian Belt Knife) design. I am in LOVE with the design and its effectiveness as a skinning/processing knife.

The name "Dixie Zipper" is inspired in part by @nebhunt when he said this about a knife Dixie sent him:

"The handle design also makes it easy to unzip the hide off animals when you flip it over."​

I completely agree, when I used Dixie's knife, it was like unzipping the hide, just crazy. Unless you have one of these unique designs you just don't know how easy it is. The "zipper" feature is because...

Mora knife. Buy two (or three....or whatever multiple you'd like....) for the money you'd spend on a more expensive knife.

I would take the dixi zipper over any og my mkc knives.

The only knife I would consider over it is a heavily customized esee 3 I have. But specifically for cutting up animals the zipper wins out.

Argali Serac is that knife for me.

I did get a Dixie Zipper that I’m quite excited to test.

If you’re interested in the CBK style there’s several custom makers as well. Dixie, slalomnorth are members here that make them. There’s a couple of others as well but those two come first to mind.

New knife arrived today from Cyprus Creek Knives. 3” version of a Canadian belt knife in MagnaCut with vintage linen micarta scales. Nice high grind and very thin behind the edge. It missed deer season by about a week, but I think it’s going to be an everyday knife that handles my small and big game chores. I specifically asked for a kydex taco-style a heat with an ulticlip. Jared Beavers makes a really nice, handmade knife for a reasonable price.
