I used to carry trekking poles mainly for setting up tarps, but found I really didn’t use them for much else. So, I started carrying only a Bahco Laplander saw to cut sticks for my tarp setup. There was never a use for the Laplander saw other than to cut my sticks, so I ended up with this nice lightweight saw that holds standard jigsaw blades. I’ve also used it once to cut a baton for firewood. It comes with diamond files which are a bit coarse, but could be used to sharpen knives. Keep it in the side pocket of my bino harness so I can pull it out easily when I come across a good IMG_8360.jpegIMG_8361.jpegIMG_8362.jpegstick close to nightfall. Does everything I need and only weighs 1.5 oz. $17 on Amazon.

Thanks for sharing. I recently made one for the sole purpose of cutting poles for a tarp. But mine is double that weight.

I thought it would weigh more. It’s listed at 6 oz but that includes all of the different files and saw blades that are included. I was very happy when it came out to 1.5 oz with just one blade.

I think it would be difficult to cut out a skull plate. The blade is too short to get through the full width and depth. I think the end of the blade would end up stubbing into the inner cavity once you break through.

do you have the Amazon link?

How/where does the blade stow when not in use?

I bought a Leatherman with a good saw blade for this purpose so I’m not sure I have a need but I am intrigued.

My brother has a stanley that takes sawzall blades. One of these that took sawzall blades would be good

I just rubber band the blade to the handle. A sawzall version would be nice too. For my needs, this jigsaw blade handle is perfect.
