I'm always curious what people mean when the say "looking for a mature deer"....Like, is 4.5 yrs old mature enough? Or is it just another way of saying, "I'm waiting for a big deer", cause age doesn't mean big and big doesn't mean old.

Interesting with the AAE max stealth. I know that switching from a 4 fletch max stealth to a 3 fletch max hunter (I controlled for weight by adding arrow wrap) gained me yards on the tape. That 4 fletch max stealth slows down so much more and stabilized less, per my testing.
That's why I'm counting it as a success. Any porky encounter that ends with me not pulling out the pliers or going to the vet is a success, especially with an 18 month old dog.
I do nothing from November to early August. I then shoot for 3 weeks and start lobbing 90 yd bombs at antelope and carry on thru elk season. Works every time...
