I used to take granola bars and various protein bars but those are just so damn dry and would make me so thirsty. I've been enjoying Lara's bars and honey stingers. I'll bring some small candy bars sometimes but it's hard to limit those if I'm doing any kind of sitting for glassing etc
Like others have said, get up there earlier than initially planned but also map out a few other spots just in case. They might not even be up there hunting but who knows, maybe you find a new hunting partner or just trade a little Intel and compare notes etc. Is the area big enough to both of...
My wife has never been a big fan of when I go solo hunting. I get it, they just care because they love us and don't want anything bad to happen etc. This is my first year with a zoleo but she does appreciate that little reassurance or the ability just to check in
Like many others, I got hosed using a meat locker back in the day, so we've always done all of our own butchering and processing. We've always done the steaks, roasts and stew meat etc but have only been grinding our own burger the last few years and it is so worth it. Like several others have...
I've always ran with Interstate batteries in all of our vehicles. I've only had to use the warranty on one but no questions asked, they just replaced it
I loved my Vortex glasspak. I actually always keep it in the truck with my old binos. I upgraded because of the attachment system. Mainly to carry my pistol underneath the binos instead of on my hip.
I've always ran samsung galaxy phones and outside of the few that broke (both were my fault) I've had pretty good luck with them. They take great pictures as well. Service is always hit and miss up in the mountains regardless of which phone you use though
I've only been using trail cams for the last couple years. I thought cellular was the move, so I have several moultrie cams. While they are awesome, it sure is frustrating trying to find spots with service. I've been debating on picking up a few of the Stealthcam Browtine 16s to leave out for...
I have a Galaxy smart watch and have loved it. However, whenever I'm in the mountains or somewhere without service, it just drains the battery. Even on airplane mode. I have my eye on a Garmin for my next watch though
I have the eberlestock bino harness and absolutely love it. Plus, if you ever decide you want to add other pouches or attachments down the road, it's pretty simple with the molle attachment system
I carry a glock 21 on an eberlestock bino harness. I always used to carry it on my hip in a holster but my pack puts pressure on it, causing the screws to come loose. So I made the switch to the harness holster and absolutely love it!
