I hunt north of Spokane.
Over the past five years the birds have definitely gotten a lot quieter. I've still had pretty good success, but they aren't nearly as vocal coming into a set.
It seems like anywhere you go the birds will be silent a week into the season. They're not dumb, they know...
It seems like a majority of clientele for goat hunts are 45+ year old guys.
If you get your fitness in order and do all you can to practice making shots in some vertical terrain, you'll have done more than the average dude booking a goat hunt.
I'm only 28 but I've had pretty bad tinnitus since I was a kid, only getting worse with unprotected shooting.
I couldn't find much relief with the apps, I wish you better luck.

Get a drz400. Old, cheap, reliable, super easy to work on. Still small enough for single track, but big enough to do 55 on the highway.
Whatever you get, be sure to spring it for your weight.
