Yeah campfire didn’t seem to be much different than what I found elsewhere I just said screw if and bought argali big game bags. With discount I had they were like 75 and free shipping.

Newish to hunting, first elk hunt but plenty of rifle experience. What do you guys consider a good enough grouping to be confident at a given range? I’m trying to extend out to 300 and feel good about it before first rifle. I was hitting shots within a couple inches of each other at 200 yards...
Also, I’m sure I’ll get opinionated responses but certain bags are meant for boned out vs meat on bone. Just personal preference? Would it just be safer to get meat on bone bags since I assume they’d be larger?

This may sound crazy and I probably won't get any because I don't want to embarass myself, but have any of you tried out mesh base layers? Just read about them and it seems like they would be the best in terms of functionality. Lighter/faster drying and even warmer I guess bc there are more air...
From what I’ve seen no. What I’ve read is that they really don’t work well and weigh more than they’re worth. Some I’ve seen people say it takes a full day in the sun to charge it back up like 20%. And a 20k one will get you thru like 10 days or more.

Yeah I guess it’s like indestructible but I don’t see myself smacking it on rocks and jumping into the water with it so as long as the ankers can handle rain I think I’ll go with that, probably the 20k one.

Looking to get a power bank to charge my phone, garmin watch and headlamp if needed for a week long hunt. I was originally looking at the dark energy Poseidon since it’s marketed all over but had concerns over capacity. Now I’m seeing banks from brands like Anker with double the capacity for...
Just broke my trekking poles on a hike this past weekend, they were relatively cheap ones.
Looking to get a decent set that are compatible with quick stix. Looking for recs if it matters. I can't tell if some of these $100+ poles are worth it since the $60 ones I just had worked fine for 4...
How do you put them on while you’re wearing pants? Just shove them down the pant legs from the waist? And then how do you get to the zipper to zip them up? Sorry I might sound incredibly stupid right now I just am not picturing it haha. Good to know though, I’ll just get em.

1) I have a set of base layers but was wondering if packing a second is a good idea? We'll be out for about a week and will probably hike a few miles in, set up base camp and go to and from there.
2) Is there a weight for base layer pants you'd suggest? I see Kuiu has a sale going on right now...
Have a free 3 month OnX Elite Trial and am trying to use it although it seems pretty slow compared to Google Earth.
Anyhow, is there a way to isolate just my GMUs? I find it annoying to see things outside of my boundaries, even just being able to outline my specific area would be great...
I’ll work with what I got… Been hiking in Colorado at about 13,000 ft as much as I can last couple months I’m barely overweight (could comfortably lose 10-15 lbs) and I’m 29, I’ll figure it out and I’ll do the best I can.

Could definitely be better lmao, best shape of my life 2 years ago but had some health issues so I wasn’t able to push myself hard, have a hiatal hernia and I’d just start coughing/gagging/regurgitating etc. Have surgery for it the 29th of this month and then I’m starting a routine to get in...
