We use a 12 man tipi with the wood stove. Incredible amount of room for 5 guys, gear and still room to move around. It is incredible how warm those things will stay in the single temps and wind.
How did the 2nd season go and which rifle did you end up taking? I shoot a 7mm with the 160gr AB's and they have performed well on both elk I have had the opportunity to encounter.
I have 2 tikka rifles...a .308 for deer and a 7mm Rem Mag for elk. I prolly don't need the separate rifle for elk, but it makes me feel good to have it. I do love the Tikka's though...incredible accuracy and so easy to carry.
I have hunted the Selway 6 years and seen ONE elk...a very nice 300+" bull, which I was fortunate enough to bring back to the trail head. Beautiful yet unforgiving place. It is a long way from South Carolina for that kind of hunt though.
