Any opinions on Starline 223 or 5.56 brass? I see their statement about the 5.56 brass having a “harder base” than their 223 brass. I’ve been using mixed year lake city machine gun brass with good results but want to try something else for the Tikka
Bridger, my 4 year old has been begging to shoot a deer all year but he’s just a little too small to do it right. But when we got a close range chance at a pig, he and his Jagd Terrier Scruffy gave it a third eye. To hear him tell it he’s now the greatest hunter of all time.
Here’s a 77 TMK kill my boy made last night. I’ve killed a few hundred hogs and deer with 223s, mostly hogs. Approximately 1/2 were shot with cheap 55 grain soft points and 1/2 55grain FMJ. If you hit bone with an FMJ it’s usually a bullet tumble and lights out, no bone and it’s more trigger...
I’ve loaded a few sub X for a 450BM with Unique running 1015fps. They are yielding 3/4” 3 shot groups at 50 yards I’ve yet to capture one out of about 8-9 pigs and 2 deer, all pass through and it appears that expansion is minimal. All high shoulder shots and every animal has flopped, the loud...
My father in law ran Elephant Mountain as the biologist and when my wife was growing up they lived on the WMA for awhile. I’ve been out there a few times looking at desert bighorns and for work. It’s a cool place
I would notify him that I’m filing criminal charges unless I receive a refund
When I have a little trouble collecting which has been 3-4 times in 10 years and thousands of projects. I notify the debtor that I will be filing theft of services charges. Since I rarely work for under $2k / project...
This is crazy I thought I was alone in this. I just got back from a AK Moose hunt and both of my big toes were numb for 2 weeks after packing meat. Also my thumb and finger tips were numb. Probably from the pack weight on my shoulders.

Went with the Kalinco for a moose hunt it was heavier and bulkier than my buddy’s expensive hilleberg it also held up well being stretched over a boulder in the wind. The hilleberg ripped
Since my original post I gambled on the free soldier tarp. The build quality seems pretty good for $38. However due to the packed size and weight I will likely be returning it and looking for something a little smaller/lighter.
Does anyone have experience with the cheap $30-$50 Chinese tarps like the free soldier or wise owl brands.
Just looking for a lightweight shelter or something to lay meat on etc
I have a hard time spending $150 + on a name brand tarp that I’ll likely tear up
