Yeah it’s somewhat of a play on words on their part. It says you can’t I-MESSAGE them. Then at the bottom it says you can use SMS messaging via satelite.
That’s essentially confirming it works. You just can’t iMessage someone with an android, which you can’t with regular service either.
Are you sure about that? I am 95% positive my buddy has an android and I was messaging him via satellite a couple of days ago, no problem.
I remember assuming it wouldn’t work and being really surprised that it did.
Honestly, with it being thanksgiving that was my first thought too but I didn’t want to be the first one to say it. I thought your comment was a little “he he” and was flabbergasted that it ruffled someone’s feathers so badly. Oh well, takes all kinds I suppose.
Don’t drink and rokslide kids...
Used it a bunch this week. No complaimts. Honestly, really slick. I was going to keep my 13 pro forever, but decided to upgrade to the 16 pro for the satelite messaging alone.
I’m excited to ditch my Zoleo and not have to pay for it anymore. Will be interesting to see how much they eventually...
I would argue that having your “trainer” having a bolt throw that exactly matches your hunting rifle (assuming it’s another tikka) is much more of a benefit than a problem.
This way, when you’re shooting positionally and practicing follow-up shots, everything is the same but the recoil. I think...
Agreed, that looks like an easy superglue special if I’ve ever seen one. But a “dirty” knife from skinning plunging into you is probably asking for an infection, best to head to the hospital at least at some point. Super glue special if it was a “clean” knife.
When I was probably 15 I was doing...
I couldn’t see myself doing one this way, specially after reading this comment, hahahaha.
I am ~5 hours from skinned skull to a completely clean skull that’s ready to sit next to the stove for a few days and dry before getting bleached (or painted, hehe). I crank up the Turkey boiler on the...
I’ve already replied to a couple of your comments, hello friend.
The cabelas card specifically (the one that probably 75% of RS members have) is money only to cabelas. You can’t use it at the grocery store. It’s no biggie for me because I’m buying a ton of that type of stuff anyways. Anytime I...
Racking up a bunch of crap, paying for vacations and buying stuff you can’t afford and making payments=no no. That’s the type of credit card use you are talking about as “bad” because it is.
Buying all of your regular stuff you would buy anyways, and you can afford/is within your budget, but on...
I buy absolutely everything on a credit card and I pay the statement in entirety every paycheck. Everything. I use cash/debit for less than 1% of purchases. If it’s possible to charge it, I do.
I “make” hundreds of dollars annually doing it, as well as credit being safer/more secure (like...
This. My dad got me a little model 7 in 243 when I was 10, that thing knocked my socks off.
I’m so thankful that he didn’t get me into anything bigger, the 243 was plenty of recoil, anything bigger and I wouldn’t have liked to shoot, and I was a big kid.
Things probably would have been...
This is terrain dependent, but in my AO even rifle hunting I’m very unlikely to shoot a deer or have a shot at one I didn’t hear first. If I shot one tomorrow that I didn’t hear before I saw it or could shoot it, it would be the first one.
I dub off, I play on my phone, I’ll even close my eyes...
I killed two deer and 3 turkeys within 500 yards of my house this year, on my property. I do a lot of hunting on my property.
If I run out of tags around the house, I travel to a unit elsewhere in the state to kill more deer. If I run out of those tags, I’ll head to the state nextdoor.
2 more...
I’m guilty of both doing this, and not doing this. I realized this morning while looking for a rifle to try to loan to a buddy that had an optic failure last night that I have a .308 and a 6.5 creedmoor that I have never shot anything with, nor taken hunting.
I thought about it for this weekend...
I’m assuming based on the fact that you don’t already have one that you are not someone that has spent a lot of time running one.
Be careful. The time to learn how to use a chainsaw and learn how not to cut yourself from @sshole to elbow is not on a national forest road 20 miles from pavement...
The RS/S2H crew touting the big game killing capabilities of cartridges much smaller than “conventional wisdom” says you should use is not saying that the big guns don’t work though. Quite the contrary. The big guns work, everyone knows that they work, because they are (pretty much) all that has...
This right here.
Due to various family issues I had to get up early before work Tuesday and get a buck all trimmed up so I could grind and package when I got home from work.
Cutting meat while drinking coffee instead of beer had me all out of sorts, I didn’t know if I was on foot or horseback.
The PRC is “better” but really only because you don’t reload.
The selection for high/decent BC modern hunting ammo in the 6.5x55 is almost nonexistent, especially when compared to the PRC. It’s super easy to find very good, high BC, high quality 6.5 PRC ammo just about anywhere on the internet...
Can’t speak to the 110vmax that has good reviews but I have had good luck with the 110 tac-tx, sample size of 1 out of a 10.5” SBR.
Here’s one that entered at the last rib on a hard quartering buck and was found buried at the base of the neck. If memory serves it was .6+ inches at the widest...
