I just had mine pillared and bedded Friday. I could not keep the stock tight, and there were pretty significant marks in the stock where the action was moving around. It just felt mushy when torquing the screws down. We tinted the acra glass black and it looks pretty good. I’m hoping the...
^^^ this 1000%
We farm and ranch and live in the Texas panhandle. Back when we had a nice huntable population of pheasant and quail (prior to 2011 drought) we let a select few family friends hunt. They were respectful, and would always call before just showing up. Always just shot a few birds...
I ran somewhere around 300 110gr V-Max out of my savage stainless 270 wsm. That thing was a lot of fun on coyotes crows and prairie dogs. Very hard on the barrel at 3500fps but fun
270 wsm 350 yards Barnes LRX 129 quartering away pretty hard. 3250Fps muzzle velocity. Went in the ribs out the front of opposite shoulder. Spun a tight circle and fell right there.
6mm creed or 6mm Remington since you are already an 06 length action. I would stay 6mm or bigger for legality in Colorado. 260 Remington AI or 7-08AI with lighter monos are plenty fast and flat shooting. So many options not a single one is wrong!
MY 22TTH is a heck of a shooter. It’s been several years since I have shot it. It weighs 15 lbs so I don’t carry it and no longer have time to play long range much. The aoudad, antelope, and mule deer I have shot have been bang flops. I have debated building a light weight rifle.
I will start by saying I have never killed a brown bear or grizzly, but would love to one day. If I do go on a hunt I will likely take my 270Wsm. Some people would ask why? Because I have 110% faith that it will do the job! I personally have never been a fan of the 223 so I’m dang sure not...
I am definitely STRONGLY against solar farms that cover thousand of acres, but I do believe that solar panels on roof tops or over parking lots are possible viable options. However, I do not know if with out tax credits they would ever pay. I’m planning on building a shop behind my house soon...
My wife got a women’s mystery ranch metcalf. She tried several different brands on that friend had. I don’t remember which ones, but she now feels like the frame is a little wide and restricts her arm and shoulder movement. I don’t know if other packs would be different but it’s something to...
My wife has been looking for women’s hunting cloths that fit her larger thighs but smaller waist. We finally found Eddie Bauer women’s Guide Pro pants. They fit well and are pretty quiet but not silent and no inner thigh chaffing...
I never really got on the 6.5 creed train, but mainly because I have an 6.5-284 that is a tack driver. Im not sure I’ll ever own one. I like to reload its relaxing. IMHO the 6.5 creed has reached its peak sales and will slowly taper off after the next big thing comes out to reinvent the wheel.
I stuck several cases necking down new 6mm Remington brass to .224. Have not had a problem since I discovered the case mouth was thick (kinda has a ring) , but I started chamfering and deburring before and never had another issue. I also only use the RCBS case lube now and make sure to get a...
Gunwerks is laughing all the way to the bank on this one. They can’t have more than $3,000 In One of these things! CNC machine could turn out 10 by lunch!
