Damn I wish I had the money. This is exactly what I want. Truck going into shop in the morning to most likely get a new transmission….when it rains it pours.
My opinion/experience, go A2. I’ve had a lower with A2 buttstock for years and enjoy it. I decided to put A1 stock on a lower that I put together for a 300blk hog/whitetail rifle, thinking it would shoulder better with thick jacket/coat on…I was wrong. Now I’m looking for another quality A2...
I could live with that. I’m sure I’m being stubborn about not wanting another cartridge, but with components made of unobtainium in the past few years I cringe of the idea of trying to source them. Especially during testing and development.
I have not looked into 6.5 Creedmoor. I was trying to stay in the realm of cartridges I already reload for. Another cartridge, that I also do not reload for, I hear good thing about is the 7mm-08, but again, was hoping to stay 30 cal.
Has the 308 lost favor when it comes to hunting with...
I don’t mind staying with a short action 30 caliber. I was just considering the 30-06 for bigger selection of bullet weights and a bit more FPS. I would estimate the rifle will be used for 400yds and in. Say shooting a 165gn bullet in both the 308 and the 30-06 in a 7# overall weight rifle, do...
In firefly’s defense…Right, wrong, or indifferent…At what point does something become seasoned grind meat instead of sausage? I could eat it prepared anyway…I love brats.
I’ve been wanting to get a lighter rifle, but haven’t made my mind up what route or manufacturer I wanted to go with. I’ll have to do some reading up it’s seems. I have a heavy 308 and 6mmBR bolt gun, strangely enough, I would like a light 30-06 bolt gun. I often carry my trusty M1 Garand around...
Lately I’ve been simmering brats in water as to use a more traditional type of cooking. I’ll have to split a few casings and fry some up for breakfast or what not.
This is interesting. Reminds me of a sleeper Honda Civic with the interior gutted and holes cut into non structural items. How does it shoot? Sharp recoil?
Beautiful rifle, would love to get PRI upper one of these days when the economy gets better. I thought I read Allen Engineering quit making suppressors due to maybe owner retiring or something along those lines.
What do you prefer when walking with the Montana, the quick release or the hooks?
Anyone have experience with the Sling-a-ling? Not sure how I feel about shooting bow with sling still attached, but could get use to it.
No doubt, Mathews makes a fine product. My current V3 is a machine and the Phase 4 feels great in my hand…so there may be one with my name on it after all.
Has anyone seen these limb issues on the Phase 4? I was so close to pulling trigger on one a while back, but I didn’t know how I felt about 8 Limbs connected with rubber…now this with Lift limbs.
Good Morning Everyone, I’m looking for a good sling set up for my Mathews V3 31”. What’s the opinions on Mathews bow sling that utilizes their Silent Connect System? It’s a bit pricey to buy both items as I don’t have the SCS now. Any good alternatives or is the Mathews the way to go. FWIW I’m...
