Yeah, I know, I'm that guy that won't STFU and let this thread die off.
I believe that as a hunter and fly fisherman, it is my duty and responsibility to be a leader in the efforts of conservation of our fish and wildlife. There are a lot of good dudes on this site, so even if you don't...

Alaska Board of Fisheries Meeting Information/News...
U.S. Senator Lisa Murkowski (AK) gives her opinion regarding the potential Endangered Species Act listing by NOAA Fisheries of Alaskan Chinook/King salmon (which probably won't happen this year).
Let her and the other Alaskan Congressional members know your respectful thoughts both pro and/or...
Are hatchery Pink /Humpback/Humpy salmon part of the declining population of Chinook/King salmon problem? I'm not saying Osprey is right (or wrong) as I know that every group has its hidden agenda, but it is worth considering. Who knows? Yes, no, maybe, kind of sort of, who cares...
Just a reminder, no matter what side of the declining wild Chinook/King salmon issue you support or are against, that every stakeholder/U.S. citizen needs to take a few minutes to voice their concerns, views and opinions to your elected officials and leaders of any business and conservation...
@WalterH, as you know, there used to be some absolute beasts (Chinooks and Steelhead) swimming up the Columbia River to the many tributaries in WA, OR & ID. It's a damn dirty shame what happened to the huge steelhead that migrated in and out of the North Fork of the Clearwater in Idaho...

All stakeholders need to take the time to voice their concerns and provide solutions to this very important issue. This is your opportunity to make a difference for wild salmon (especially Chinook/King salmon) and steelhead...

There are tons of information out there regarding chinook/king salmon fisheries and the fishing industry in general. As always, there are more questions than answers let alone workable solutions to somewhat satisfy the stakeholders.
Perhaps the only way (I didn't say popular because on this...
Basically, more of the same information as the above link. The issue is not going away anytime soon.

No sane person disputes that wild Chinook salmon and Steelhead are becoming fewer and fewer across North America with each passing year. The most obvious solution to the problem of the constant dwindling wild Chinook/King salmon and Steelhead populations is to close the season until all...
The bottom-line up front is that this entire issue comes down to the human factor: MONEY, POWER and GREED. These intrinsic values are inherently mankind across all cultures and ethnic groups.
Absolutely no stakeholders will voluntarily take a reduction in money or power until the last wild...
I certainly don't have many answers on how to fix all the problems that wild anadromous fish, especially wild Chinook/King salmon and wild Steelhead, are currently facing. It seems that at this point, there are a helluva lot more questions than answers.
Perhaps one very over simplified...

@WRO, I looked it up and you are correct, it is NFS as well as Wild Fish Conservancy (it won't be long before their sister organizations and corporate sporting cronies join them). Kind of like the Pebble Mine) who are politicking for putting Alaska Chinook/King salmon under the Endangered...
I heard that some fishing groups are now calling for the Feds to protect Alaska wild Chinook/King salmon under the Endangered Species Act. I admit bias here, but wild Steelhead could use some protection too. The issue of dwindling wild salmon and steelhead stocks is only going to get worse...
I recently had to send in my Swarovski spotting scope (STS 20-60x80 HD) for repair/maintenance. Damn thing had condensation in it. I also returned a Z3 scope (Swarovski had problems with the Z3 scopes back then) scope twice about 10 years ago. I sold it soon after. So, does this mean that...
