I did a quick google search and there isn’t a ton of info on moose attractants. I hunt in AK so it needs to be synthetic. Curious what y’all think about them and perhaps use.
I personally know the previous owner, current manager, and one of the bear guides. Excellent outfit with great success rates. I highly recommend going with Bushwhack!
@everyone I ended up finding a Gen 1 Viper with tripod for 500 on FB. Had some life things come up but would still like to get out. Thanks for all the input.
Hey all! I’m wanting to do kodiak goat in March this year. Had a few questions about my gear and the hunt. I’m an Alaska resident based in ANC and will have a buddy with likely access to an ocean boat.

How much snow can I expect on the mountains? Doesn’t seem like it would be...
Hey all! I’ve got a few deal options rn and am curious what y’all think. I primarily hunt sheep and goat in Alaska. I’m young (23 M) and don’t have a ton of money to spend on a scope, but I definitely understand the importance of good glass.
Option 1: Leupold SX-4 20-60 x 80 on FB marketplace...
Update: Leukotaped the rest of the season and it was an instant fix as long as the laces are tight enough.
Bino harness pain is still there to a degree but mitigated because I switched to a stone glacier pack and it rides better than my previous one.
Thanks all.
I really like 24/7 R&R made by Triplicare. I’ve had several overuse injuries in my wrist, shoulder and knee and it’s worked great. You can buy it on Amazon.
I’m also new to sheep hunting up here and am kind of in the same boat as you. I’ve left my truck in less than desirable places for a few nights and it was fine. For a longer type hunt I recommend having someone drop you off.
Hello all I’m just getting into hunting in AK and just got back from a scouting trip. Awesome trip everything went perfect except two things. First thing was my bino harness was quite uncomfortable under my pack. Tried adjusting straps and position to no avail. Curious on best fix. I have an AGC...
That’s what my father in law carry’s. He has an RMR on it. How do you carry it while hunting? I have a bino harness from Alaska guide creations and have mixed feelings about it.
How many of you carry a sidearm while mountain hunting? The weight seems excessive for the benefits. Seems like bear spray and then unslinging my hunting rifle would do the job. I have a Glock 20 and hunt sheep and goats in south central AK. Thanks.
Hello all planning my hunt for this year. Curious if anyone can speak to anything about these units for sheep this year. Any tips or advice appreciated. I didn’t draw anything and am looking to walk in. Limited access to ATV’s.
