WTS Model 70 and 700 stocks

The Pre64 has not sold yet, however it is far from pristine condition. It could be a good choice for a collector who wants to hunt with their classic rifle and not risk exposing their fine factory wood stock to the elements.

WTB Winchester Model 70 L/A featherweight stock

I have a red pad pre-64 stock for a 375h&h my father in law asked me to list. I don’t think it’s a featherweight, it looks like it wasn't treated like a safe queen, and there is some sort of bedding compound in the fore end. I don’t want to waste your time if it’s not what you’re looking for...

    Sitka Jetstream as Everyday Jacket?

Solid choice, you won't regret it. I have the original Jetstream and it is a great everyday jacket. My only complaint is it's not that packable for backpack hunting. My wife has the new model Jetstream and it is much thinner and lighter.

    Best Womens Hunting Clothes

A couple to add to the solid list. Sitka Forloh I bought my wife a Sitka ambient for Christmas this year and she LOVES that thing. Great layering piece of she gets cold. The biggest thing with my wife is fit. She will not tolerate a men's cut and some companies do curves better than others...

Is the Sitka Ambient a must have?

I picked mine up after last season so I can't comment on durability but I can say I have been AMAZED by how warm it is for it's weight many times. I've thrown it on to go outside for a short time only to realize it's -20 outside when I looked later. Cuffs aren't my favorite but not a deal...

    DIY carbon fiber for beginners

Thank you for input. Do you need to wear any sort of respirator to work with it or does gloves in a well ventilated area cover it?

    DIY carbon fiber for beginners

I've seen a few posts elsewhere on the internet about making your own parts with carbon fiber sheets and epoxy. The posters made it look pretty doable and surprisingly affordable. It got the gears turning and made me think I could start making my own CF parts working up to rifle stocks. Does...

    Ideas for busted FL pants??

I patched my old set with some thin wool sock tops. The socks had a heel blowout but the tops were fine. Limped the pants through another season but they were wearing so thin you could see daylight through the rear and some sagebrush tore holes in the font of both shins. The patches held up though!

    Dyneema 101

I'll second the ripstop by the roll recommendation. I bought and made one of their dyneema pouches for a cheap practice project last year. I did notice the dyneema was a little tougher for the needle to punch through multiple layers when it was folded over. I just used a thicker needle and had...

DIY Trekking Pole Shooting Sticks with Ski Strap

Clever and cheap. I like it! If you want to spend a few bucks on something that locks more solid check out the wiser precision quick stix. It's also pretty great to just lock the poles together so they don't flop around.

    Mailbox woodstove

I had a friend who did a few years back. It'll smoke like hell the first time you fire it up until that paint burns off. Put a layer of sand or gravel on the bottom to prevent burning a hole in the cheap metal.
