Ive had nothing but good experiences with SG packs. The frame just plain works for me and doesnt even feel like Im wearing a pack. Ive run my Solo more than anything and love it for day trips. I also have a 5900, 6900, and 7900 that Im running through the paces this season. I love how well the...
Awesome review. I was originally sold on a Sitka Ambient this season until I found out the the jacket didnt have a hood and the hoody wasnt a full zip. I ended up ordering a Cirque Lite. Waiting for it to arrive but pretty happy with all the rest of my SG apparel and after reading the review I...
My last pair of Salomons lasted like 3-4 months of mild use. I was really not impressed. I have a pair of Crispi thors now and first impressions are theyre tough as hell. Time will tell though.
I carry a small pillow. I personally have tried 5 or more inflatable pillows and can never sleep worth a shit with them. I bought a small little pillow id say about 12x24 and a small compression sack and just crank it right down and it packs small enough and is comfortable as hell. I can dig it...
Just got my Rincon 2P today (scooped a used one off the classifieds) I have to say this thing packs down to almost nothing! I am super impressed so far and once the weather clears up (-15c currently and snow) I will get it out and try it out. I picked up the carbon pole and some argali game bags...
A bigger solo is probably the best explanation of this pack. I do love my solo more than any other pack ive ever owned. So maybe the big brother might not be a bad addition to the family after all. I can get away with the solo for 3 day trips in the early season maybe a little longer if I...
My stakes with my older 2P are just basic shepherds hook stakes but they do work quite well. I usually carry some mini ground hogs and some off brand carbon stakes as well. Always good to have a small variety for varying ground.
Im planning for an early September excursion so thanks for all the tips. I was hoping to find someone with some experience to show me the ropes but I may just tackle it solo if need be. I have a couple hunting buddies from over the years who are thinking of joining me but none of them have...
I currently have a solo and a 5900 so this is a nice in-between but at the same time if I decide to add another SG pack to the mix may as well go ever bigger as I already have the mid size day/multi day pack size covered. I do really like the looks of it and with my gear that I carry I could...
I would say the advantage is the packed sized. The 1P is a bit smaller and takes up less space in your pack. I Own both and honestly never use my 1P. I love running a 2P tent minimum just for the comfort aspect. Sleep system I dont really skimp on comfort for that little bit of space in my pack...
I have 2 years with my Taiga Ronin R20 quilt and love it. It packs down to a nalgene bottle and weighs almost nothing. Id buy a Taiga bag no hesitation if I decided to go back to a mummy bag for those colder late season hunts.
