    Barren Ground Caribou Outfitter

I hunted 4 days. As far as 'shooters' go, this was my first caribou hunt so your definition would probably be different, but I was basing that on what my guide was telling me. Suffice to say that we saw many large antlered caribou. I hunter the last week of August.

    Barren Ground Caribou Outfitter

I was targeting caribou, but I was fortunate to also shoot a grizzly. We were really in the caribou. We probably saw 50-100 shooter bulls each day.

    2023 Sheep Mount

Thank you all for the congratulations. I really can't believe how nice the mount came out and I can't stop looking at it. As far as the age goes, I really don't know. The guide quickly counted 8.5 when we got up to it, but looking closely at the mount I think that may be conservative, but I...

Lessons Learned from a rookie sheep hunter

Great write up. I returned from my first sheep hunt about a week ago and I would totally agree with what has been written by WashedUp1775, kybuck1 and mtwarden. I was in decent physical shape, but you just cannot simulate the rock walking on steep slopes with as kybuck1 said "...if one of...

2023 Best Wild Sheep Hunt Photo Contest, sponsored by Stone Glacier

Yukon. 5pm last day. Guide captured this photo on his way back from grabbing our gear. I was taking a moment to admire one of nature's most beautiful creatures and to reflect on the fulfillment of a dream I've had for 40 years.
