I tried the 7.62x39 & it was much more difficult to extract than .223
It's doable, but I'd hate to think I needed a quick second shot.
.300 Ham'r is hands down the best .30 cal option.
I used nothing but cheap spinning rods for years, until I bought a decent quality (+/- $200) model. You couldn't pay me to go back now.
I'm sure St. Croix will help out & if they do, I'd definitely buy another.
If I could only keep one......
220gr Speer Hot Core at 2450fps & it'll knock ANYTHING'S dick into the dirt inside of 400yds.
We really ought to start a petition to get Speer making that bullet again.
My .358 is by far the killingest rifle I own & when they start throwing dirt on me, it'll be...
Another vote for Misen. I use an 8" chef's & a 6" utility for literally everything. I've had them 3 years & they've been to the stones twice now & get hit on a smooth steel every use. They have nice heft & balance, nice ergonomics & are a LOT of knife for the money.
Burris Fullfield 2, 2-7x35 with the BDC reticle.
Gently used with a couple of tiny marks on the turret caps. No ring marks. I personally shot 20 rounds under it, then found the Ultralight SWFA I really wanted.
I bought it as "unused, no box" but can't verify that.
No longer in production...
6 Arc, one of the Grendels, .300 Ham'r, 6x45, 6.5 Arc, .223.......
Pick your poison.
I'm just getting set to build another UL-UL straight pull AR in .300 ham'r for a friend, specifically for your exact needs. I lent him mine for a couple of hunts & according to him, it 'better mousetraps' all...
Damn!
Hell I don't think I've ever even torqued a barrel. I usually crank it down hand right, then whack the wrench handle a couple of times with a rubber mallet.
I've never had one shoot that badly. I think you've got something else going on.
Shit, I've put 223s thru a .300blk & got better...
This old Husky was cracked right through the forearm. The crack was along the grain & about 4" long, running more than half way around the rifle.
I flexed the stock enough to spread the crack a tiny amount & used super thin superglue to flood the crack then basically let itself flex back...
I used to be a fan too. You're not alone!
I used to alternate between Four Roses SB & regular old George Dickel as my go tos. To my mind, either beat the pants off just about anything else.
Pappy. I know it's 'rare' (you know retail is only $80, right?) But it's honestly just a middle of the road whiskey.
I don't drink anymore, but when I did I actually got hold of a bottle & almost had an 'opening ceremony' with some good friends. None of us had ever tried it before & we were all...
