I’m also in Ak. I have a 300wm tikka i got cut and threaded. Its been accurate and is easy to carry in willows. I’m also a way bigger fan of tikkas than savage. Been on 2 successful brown bear hunts and 1 moose hunt.

Honestly, I would look at a tikka in either a 7 mag or 300wm. Way more factory options and the animals you’re shooting won’t be able to tell the difference

I have a ph3 7prc. It’s a great rifle if you don’t mind a little extra weight. Its definitely noticeably heavier than my tikkas and brownings

I don’t, I live and hunt in Alaska. This years moose hunt our guns were literally soaked with for 3 days. Got home just let them air dry and they are fine minus a little gunk. Took 15 minutes to clean 2 rifles and now they look brand new.
If I had a blued rifle I might consider bringing oil...

I would get the tikka roughtech super lite from europtic. Stainless and cerakoted. I have one and it shoots good and takes alaska no prob
