Recurve or long bow, which one should i take for elk

LB I left the compound world about 15 years ago. Practiced a lot. And the first time I drew back on a deer with a stickbow I totally lost it... "Where's the pin??!!"

short recurves?

To simplify, let's say a bow gains 2 pounds for every inch it's drawn. At 28 inches it's 50#. At 27" it would be 48#, 26"-46#,...29"-52#. Then from 29 to 30 inches it jumps 4#. That's stack. There are a lot of genius/physicists that can explain it better. There's a guy, Blackie ?, that tests...

Zeus, I've been watching this thread, you guys are doing a great job, I am very impressed. Have you ever seen the antler tips some bowyers do? Don't get me wrong, yours looks perfect, I just have a soft spot for em I guess. Adds a real nice classy look, maybe on your next one...can't wait to see...

Thanks for the welcome Brothers, I'm probably not the best teacher, but I can certainly express my opinions on Trad archery. As far as opinions go, I'm really not a wolf hater. Like everybody I know, I think that wolves, the animals themselves, are kinda cool. I do hate just about everything...
