I tried the havalon and while gutting with it was fine that was it. I snapped blades caping, and try to disjoint.
They're probably better now, not as fragile. Now I mostly do gutless, and pack them out.
A havalon can't be used for much else. If you get in a jam, a good fixed blade can get a...
I'm another fan of 3.5-4" blades for field use. There are so many good options I can understand your frustration.
I have a couple custom knives and a Bark River that are my usual go too choices. I also like the shape of a Buck 113 but would get a custom shop with s30v.
At work we actually paid a pest control co. to put out some hallucinogenic corn. A few overdosed, many staggered around a while. Survivors stayed gone.
Started doing it every other spring. New generation of birds don't know about the bad trips I suppose.
My house is less than 10 years old, and I just replaced half of my Milgaurd windows with Renewal by Anderson windows. Not cheap, but noticed a difference. Can't imagine still using windows that old.
New will get you a lot better insulating effect, not to mention functional.
This won't change.
I have a couple customs that I usually use, and one Bark River. I don't like sharpening a knife during the job.
That said, I think my personal preference would be another custom with a similar blade shape, different geometry handle, and choose the steel.
Barrel harmonics probably won't be affected much by changing the weight of a scope. Loose mounts will. Your example of the 300 stringing vertical and then horizontal doesn't prove much except the rifle still has issues.
I worked up loads for a 1:7 16", then shot them in a 1:8 16" and a 11.3"...
If you're bow hunting the Northern Rockies a pistol is a good idea.
I'm in the North panhandle of Idaho, have not personally had an issue thankfully, but a couple years ago two guys hunting black bear in the next canyon south of us were mauled by a griz.
There's been a few incidents documented...
Sounds to me like a reason to buy one more!!!
Alone in bear country, from what I have, my .338WM would feel very comfortable.
If not alone, it would greatly depend on what other people are bringing. Might opt for a RS Special, and carry my .45 Super for fuzzy wuzzy.
Z has a good plan.
I've seen chest freezer in the pickup bed but that's a bit much for me.
One idea a friend of ours uses, was glued foam panels to plywood. Each side was held with hinges. With the pins out it lays flat. Put a couple pieces of dry ice over the meat, separated by clothes to...
I'd probably contact Hornady with the lot number and ask some questions.
Me being me, I'd probably also sectioning with a mill file just to see for myself.
I've pushed sst's pretty fast and though they seemed to fragile for what I was doing, none came apart in flight.
It's definitely interesting, I've only had this happen shooting Hornady sx bullets and some blitz out of a .22-250 so in one case over-rotation and one over speed.
Neither seem possible in this scenario. Is it possible he has damaged the bore somehow during cleaning?
Well how's your understanding of the opposition?
Is the conversation what you expected?
Here in North Idaho the native Timberwolves are now gone. They were here until the "introduction" of the Canadian wolves.
The Mountain Caribou are now gone. They were here until they brought in the...
