We work on our own stuff and all of us in our group tie in nock points. I like the wider d loop you get by doing this as well. Highly recommended that you do it.
For a lightweight quality hunting scope you'd be hard pressed to beat a vx5 or vx6. My brother just purchased a zeiss v4 and I was very impressed with it as well. Probably still go leupold though on my next rifle.
I felt like glassing towards the sun was the issue. We were in Northern AZ. I also felt like it was easier to focus the zeiss to my eyes. I didn't feel they were optically better than the slc binos, but they were easier to glass against the sun for me.
