Been hunting fort Richardson near anchorage hard with my muzzleloader with not much luck.... have a few days left to hunt hard before back to work
if things don’t come together I may be able to get some time off in early January at the end of season. Is that even a worthwhile time to hunt...
well put... I am by no means a deadeye shooter... but if I stay within my comfortable distance limits and use and practice with the right bullet I am just as accurate and lethal with an open sights muzzleloader as a scoped rifle

Have a hunt coming up for a tag I drew and my friend (s) who were scheduled to help pack may have to back out due work reasons. The good news is it's on a military base just north of anchorage with lots of road and trail access so the pack out even if solo should be very do able. Main concern...
For the size trout im thinking your going after in a kick boat a 10ft 6 or 7 wt with a fast action should be perfect. I think an 8 would be overkill for those fish
Any suggestions for how heavy a bullet I should be using for Alaska moose. I drew DM422 ( fort Richardson or jber)
The last few years I have shot several deer and practiced a lot with good success using the Hornady SST 250 grain bullets with 100 grains of triple 7.
