Best place to grab a beer and crash in Bozeman?

Was listening to a Lewis and Clark book on the way up. First hotel close to downtown I drove by was Lewis and Clark Inn, just seemed right. Dinner was fine for bar food, Guinness was poured well. Downtown was similar to Durango, California lite, but w some hunting based businesses. I must...

    Why Match/Target Bullets For Hunting

I don’t know, the guide at the end of the bar right now insists elk just soak up .300 win mags and .338s. Damn near invincible to hear tell of it.

Suppressor covers - who's and why

Experimented w $15 roll of high temp silicone tape ( enough for 4-5 suppressors) and vet wrap/Coban. More than adequate for bolt gun use, couple hundred rounds through so far.

    Kubota vs John Deere

I have a JD 4044. They redesigned the radiator, damn thing collects dust and debris and causes the engine temp to spike and to force me to shut down and clean it out every few hours of use. Cleaning is not easy. I live in high desert and am told we have some special weeds/dust that cause this...

KRG spacers worked for my purposes, but I was drilling new holes to lift but pad above board. 3/8 thick each.

Tikka trigger.. how light is too light?

I had after market springs in, really liked them for target shooting, but felt they were too light for gloves/cold weather. Back to factory springs as light as they’ll go, plenty light enough. Interestingly, I feel like I know exactly when they’ll break vs kind of a surprise.

Thoughts on purchasing hunting land in CO

My use case is slightly different, but I was able to pick up 105 acres next to our primary home (35 acres) in far SW CO for under 200k. Bit of a haul from the front range and I'm happy for it.

Two Collared Wolfs shot in Larimer County

I've spoke w Dan and another member of the organization about some ideas, they are the tip of the spear for political action in CO in regards to protecting our right to hunt. They have been the primary organization fighting the anti cat hunters via legal means (challenging the wording of the...

Why cant people accept the fact that some people dont need a drop tested scope?

I landed here after a rifle system failure. Glad I did. I bought into the Rokslide "system" but didn't commit to proofing my own sh*t initially. That has been an interesting next step. I would encourage you to set up a system as described and then test it for yourself, maybe start with an...

    Who makes PVA prefit barrels?

PVA “Osprey” prefit that @slowelk had made. I think it’s a 22” #2 contour and had a built in flare at the muzzle (nice touch). Literally all I did was thread it on, torque, check w go/no go and load w 180gr ELDMs. Box ammo was a little slow at 2850fps. Hand loads are at 2950 w out any pressure...
