I just don't understand that either. I let a guy coon hunt my farms and I got cell cam pictures of his dog blowing right past a group of bucks. 5 mins later the bucks came right back to the corn and that guy treed two coons at the end of the same ridge. I like to see people make full use of the...
It's not that bad here but it's nothing to get 7-8 coons on one pile of corn here around my house. Have had up to 12 at one time on trail camera. Deer hunters have pushed the houndsmen out of the game in most places and nobody traps here anymore unfortunately.
Only reason I'd prefer a pup is raising it around my little boy. The feists and curs I had growing up weren't the most child friendly animal. They tended to be a bit ornery. I've started several coonhounds and enjoy that part quite a bit. I want a very gamey dog. I think as much as I'm in the...
Going to get me and my son a pup this spring and not sure what breed to go with. I prefer the currs but would rather have a closer hunting dog so a feist may be a better fit. I live in pretty hilly terrain in Southeast Ky I would want something to hunt inside of 300yds. What line of dogs do...
I didn’t end up hunting but I did swing through Oklahoma on my way back from South Dakota and scouted for two days. Out of everything we looked at I didn’t care much for the type terrain or woods that we seen. We drove a road through a certain WMA one evening and seen 46 deer in 2 miles. The...
Big fan of Simmons. Killed several deer with them so far and don't see myself switching to anything else. I've tried several different kinds but always come back to those Simmons.
One is a Winchester model 70 30-06 that my dad hunted with for a long time and I killed my first deer with it. The other is a Ruger m77 hawkeye .243 that I grew up hunting with. My dad gave me his model 70 to put back for my son when he gets older and the .243 isn't really the caliber I'm...
So as a grown man carrying a youth model 6.5 creedmore should I carry a rape whistle in the mountains of Southeastern Ky and Tn? Will that be enough to stop someone that is confused about my sexual orientation?
Yeah I bought a Tikka for my nice rifle to. Then traded for this browning and it out shoots the Tikka by a wide margin. Ive shot 7-8 diff factory loads out of my tikka and it shoots acceptable with one type of ammo. The Browning shoots sub 1” with everything I’ve put through it so far.
I have no idea why I struggle with it. I can hunt with a bow for 3-4 years and throw it over the bank and leave it with zero attachment if I had to. There seems to be a much deeper attachment with a man and his hunting rifle. I feel like if somebody see's me with my cheap rifle it's like bein...
Franchi Affinity 3.5. I had on and switched to the Browning A5. Wished I'd kept the Franchi. Couple buddies of mine had bad issues with their SB3's patterning way to high. Both were sent back to the factory and came back with the same issues. They traded for Affinity 3.5's.
I would definitely want to change the trigger and guard to all metal. I have limited knowledge about guns in general. The stock I'm pretty sure is a youth compact lol. It's a short handy rifle perfect for carrying around the mountains of Southeastern Ky and Tn. Would changing stock effect the...
So my dilemma.. I haven’t rifle hunted in the past 10 years and always filled my tags with archery equipment. I picked my rifle up this year and just really enjoyed the heck out of roaming around with the rifle on my back.
Over the years I have built some history with a couple rifles, one being...
Just picked up a case of Norinco 7.62x39 ammo head stamped 31 92. I don’t know much about it but got a killer price on it so I just went ahead and got it. I cant find much information on it but seems like after the china ammo ban it seems to go for a decent price. Any idea what it’s worth? Put...
I just been trying to figure out different ways to hunt whitetails. Different states, terrain and scenarios. Just switching it up from a compound to hunting with a recurve the majority of the time has been a fantastic way to boost the fun factor for me. When I have my recurve in hand my hunt...
