Ram aviation caribou- Mid-late August vs September

Good luck w/ the refund. We’ve been booked for Sept this year for over 2 years. For a variety of reasons (primarily health related) we attempted to cancel and requested a refund in Jan of last year. That’s over a year and a half notice. Bryan was as rude as the worst outfitter I’ve ever...

    Outstanding hunt w/ Tok Air

Wanted to share that we had an awesome hunt experience using Tok Air in early-mid Sept. We simply could not have been in a better place at a better time. Saw thousands of caribou well within range, had plenty of shooters to choose from, and easily scored 2 nice bulls. We did have to ride out a...

    Storing food in Griz country

Prepping for a future DIY hunt. I’m curious how you guys store your food when away from camp? 1) We don’t know whether we’ll be near any timber to string it up in. 2) We’re limited to a 50lb pack, so there’s no room for any extra containers or bear fencing. I’d rather not have to carry a...

Anyone ordered a seek outside tent recently???

Ordered my LBO base+tarp and stove a couple months ago and they beat their 4wk lead time projections. My 1st floorless shelter too. Man do I love this thing!

    Sandhill Crane Pellet Grill Recipe

Crane ABSOLUTELY lives up to the hype. Did my first hunt last year and can't wait to go back. 2 important things on breasts. 1) Trim off the silver skin fully. It can be a bit tedious but it makes a huge difference. 2) Don't cook past Med-Rare. Rare is also just fine. I love coating in...

Any 40 mile herd trip reports?

Seeing lots of Kotz reports this year and really enjoying them! Anyone have trip reports from 40 mile air, Tok Air, etc? Love to hear about successes and learnings. Really appreciate everyone who's shared so far!

    Cheek riser thoughts

I love the Beartooth comb riser I put on my Fierce Edge CT. Lightweight, adjustable, fits snug, and feels great. Most importantly for me...I didn't have to put any extra holes in my rifle.

    SG De Haviland vs Jetstream

Glad it worked out for you! It’s a damn good looking and feeling jacket, but just wasn’t the right fit for me. Oh well, isn’t it great that we have so many options to choose from these days?!

Does anyone have experience with Mont-Bell Sleeping Bags?

20degree...and I've used it comfortably to that and much lower.

    SG De Haviland vs Jetstream

I was really excited about the SG jacket, (I especially liked the new coyote/green color), but was bummed to have to return it due to the extremely weird fit. Shoulders were pretty narrow, then the mid-section was HUGE, then it tapered back to a very narrow waist. When zipped up, it almost...

Does anyone have experience with Mont-Bell Sleeping Bags?

Have had a spiral down hugger for close to a decade. It's held up like a champ and is incredibly comfortable. I call it "The Tangerine Dream". I've upgraded my sleep pads numerous times over the years, but stayed with the same bag.

    Typical or non-typical?

    Prana Zion pants

Regular stretch Zion for me. I also hate too slim or too baggy. (6'1, 180 here). The regular fits me perfectly. Man, those are great pants. Just got back from a week of hiking in the Pac NW and wore them everyday.
