Ever had Fire Formed Brass have a hard bolt close?

On my latest rifle (Tikka 300 WSM) I’ve been using a Lee collet neck sizing die for the first couple firings. If I can feel the bolt closing stiffer on fired brass I anneal and FL size as mentioned above. Works well and I’ll probably get more collet dies for other cartridges.

Ever had Fire Formed Brass have a hard bolt close?

Yep, definitely monitoring and I would estimate about 3 thousandths bump but I care more that they chamber when in the field.

Ever had Fire Formed Brass have a hard bolt close?

I don’t measure. I turn die a 1/8” at a time and when I see the sharpie on the shoulder start to move I see how it chambers.

Ever had Fire Formed Brass have a hard bolt close?

You can color your resized case with a sharpie and chamber it. This should show where it’s contacting the chamber. You can also color a unsized case and see how far down the neck you are sizing. Adjust die until it is at the neck/shoulder junction and just barely removes marker from shoulder.

Advice needed - cold bore issue, maybe?

I would check that the recoil lug is in the recoil slot of the action correctly and that the action screws are torqued to spec.

    Difference between Veil/VSX Tikka T3x

Whichever one you go with and you want 1-10 twist, make sure the barrel has 1-10 stamped on it. If not it’s probably a older 1-11 model.

Best current deals on tikka donor.

Beat me to it but it’s a pretty good deal too.

Will Tikka come out with a 6 CM soon???

A standard long action in something like 270 win would be easy as well. Could easily trade the LA bolt stop and magazine for a SA ones.

    Suppressor wait times

No experience with Capital but my SS purchase was very easy. If you have some local SS dealers check with them to see if they have what you want. I told my dealer what I wanted and they got my Scythe in stock and called me before the SS website had them in stock.

When should outfitters or guides have idea where deer are?

That’s why I’m not paying them. I live in WY, but if I’m paying someone as a nonresident to hunt a species I don’t have the time, resources, or knowledge to scout/hunt myself I would expect the guide to at least be knowledgeable about species/area. That said, hunting is hunting and wild...

When should outfitters or guides have idea where deer are?

When I get there. If they don’t have at least a good idea of where to find whatever species I’m looking for then what am I paying them for. I haven’t been on a guided hunt before to be transparent.

Tikka updating 300 wsm twist rate- 1-10”

Most of the mono bullets 180g and up need at least a 1/10 twist.

    Tipped Fusion vs Terminal Ascent

Both will work just fine. The fusions are a bonded bullet as well.

Gun for Elk Hunting in Thick Timber

A pistol in 41 mag, 10mm(if legal), 44, or bigger can work well in tight timber. Anytime I’m still hunting timber I have my Blackhawk Bisley 45 Colt ready.

    Will Vehicle Prices Ever Decrease?

Not sure about a Tundra but a 450 has a tighter turn radius than a 250 or 350.

    Tikka T3x muzzle threading

Any decent Smith should be able to do it. Ultimate Reloader has a video on YouTube that explains it better than I can.

    Tikka T3x muzzle threading

Not an adapter, barrel is threaded extra long and collar is 5/8x24, loctited in place, and trued square to the bore.

    .270 WSM loading

Lots of good powder options. R17, H4350, Hunter, Staball 6.5, 760, and Magpro just to name a few. R17, CCI 250, and 140gr Accubond at 3150 fps is money in my rifle.
