weve only been for vacations with a ton of hiking... we pretty much go out and camp/ hike for two weeks during september. if youre working legs thats a heck of a start. the biggest i would say would be have your cardio better than ever, its helped a ton in kicking the altitude sickness for me...
wife and i take a almost annual trip to washington or oregon, interviewing for a job out there next week. i consider myself to be in pretty good shape, and the altitude still gets me pretty good. thats my biggest tip for anyone going out there. get your stuff together before attempting it!
Thanks to everyone for the replies! Heading up week after next to interview. The Washington BHA chapter seems to be relatively active in the Methow valley as well. If things work out and I head up that way, ill definitely be looking for someone to learn the ropes with. Thanks again!
