Broadside shot at 175 yards. 16” tikka rough tech shooting 73gr Eldm. Buck ran roughly 40 yards with blood pouring out of his mouth. Lungs were soup. Nothing seemed out of the ordinary until we quartered him.
Photo has the quarter removed, and this shows the entrance. Roughly a 3-4 inch...
Killed my first deer last night with a 73gr eldm bullet out of the 16' tikka. Roughly a 285 yard shot, and the bullet worked as hoped. The deer went less than 20 yards with his heart/lung destroyed... A very fun setup to run suppressed and now i can say effective as well.
Despite what EuroOptics website said, when my .223 roughtech ranch showed up, I have a 1/2-28 thread pitch. Not the end of the world for me, but I would have preferred 5/8. Just be aware, I think there is a mixed bag of thread pitches on the 223.
I have a Tikka .243 with the 1-10 twist. What is everyone’s favorite bullet for deer and elk? I have been running nosler partitions, but things seem to die slow.
I did one guided Thorofare trip (2010 era). It was amazing, but there are a lot of people back there. We rode the trail with countless other folks. For me, that took away from the trip, I just couldn’t understand why we would ride that far just to camp alongside others. We went 1 for 3 on...
Call Swarovski and register them. They understand their is a huge used market m, they will work with you on the registration process. Once registered send them in and they are pretty reasonable on repairs and/warranty.
I bought a pair of EL’S like this for $450, because the original owner...
Started with smaller calibers and have been going larger as of late. Started with a .270 and killed several elk and deer. Got a .243 for my son and killed several more deer. Then got a .300 win as a gift and enjoyed killing things faster.
Most of my kills have been with nosler partitions. The...
I have 1 archery kill and it was a 368” bull. I have killed 8-10 bulls with a rifle, they are all under 300”. I agree, the 300” mark is way harder to hit than people think.
My archery bull was a draw tag, all my rifle bulls are general unit.
I am right there with you... I don't believe it exists. I want a folding setup and the ability to run my tikka clips. I have looked at buying an XLR or a HNT26, but the clips keep me from purchasing one. Some may ask why... If I run the tikka clips I can swap a chassis between all calibers...
