.223 for bear, mountain goat, deer, elk, and moose.

There must be variations or differences between GFL brass. Maybe different type runs. I have never struck or had a problem with primer crimping and have loaded many hundreds of them. My brass is once fired bulk factory ammo from a pest contractor.

Everyone releasing new hunting packs and frames but Kuiu?

Not big? Sambar are one of the largest and heaviest deer species. 3rd behind Moose and Elk. Most other deer species will fit into any 40 litre/2400 ci pack when boned out. Why anyone would want to carry bone any distance is beyond me. It doesn't have to be in a load sling. Stick your gear into a...

Fiocchi\GFL is good brass. Well done on the pigs. Lithgow rifle?

Akek Alpha 3200 VS Stone Glacier Solo

Do you have actual experience with the Akek? Asking, because it looks a good option.

    New Eberlestock Mainframe w/load lifters

It seems like you are damning this Modframe simply on appearance. So whats an example of a pack that fits your less padded criteria? And what specifics makes it superior?

My advice is to start cautiously at recommended factory loads and not data from this thread. There are some loads on here that will cause out of spec pressure that could be out right dangerous in some rifles.

    New Eberlestock Mainframe w/load lifters

Say what? Doesn't look much different to others like K4 and IR to me.

Generally, yes. But I've never seen a bonded bullet OR a cup and core bullet of any type expand more than a solid copper 62grn Maker TRex. This one at over 200 yards. This doesn't mean that the TRex kill better than say the 77TMK but it does demonstrate that solid copper bullets can perform well...

    Load Shelf Necessary?

Load shelf on the Initial Ascent works a treat, I use that and the lid as a day hunt set up.

    New Eberlestock Mainframe w/load lifters

Looks like a good update. I hope that they are given an objective assessment on here and not just discarded or derided because of top tier brand loyalty. Ive got and use a top tier forum favourite but this Modframe does look like a solid option with plenty of versatility.

This is the best blood trail I have encountered from 78 deer this year. It was like this for about 25 yards. Low chest shot with a 62 grain Hammer Hunter at about 150 yds. This is not typical of the Hammers although they do churn things up and always exit.

80 grn eldx or Gold Dot. The heavier GameKings too. An exit wont guarantee any sort of blood trail. You will seldom get a reliable blood trail with any .223 bullet. Especially with the preferred high shoulder shot. Sometimes with heart shots and lower chest shots you will get some spill but its...

To me your loads and velocities say you are on or close to the SAAMI 62k pressure limit. People who load higher than this (there are many) at the best wont have their brass last and at worst risk a serious failure.

650 yard buck using 80 grn ELDX. Douple shoulder penetration and exit. Travelled 15 yards. Excellent performance. 20" barrel and 3250 fps. Dialed 9MOA for shot.

NZ. Our average tariff on US goods is 1.9%. Tell your President :). We will not charge reciprocal tariffs on the US hikes. Currently I pay USD45.96 per 50 for the 62 Maker tipped. Thats $89 in our dollars.

Yes. No links to post overseas on the website. Hammer do, but their freight is too expensive. Going forward I think buying stuff from the States is going to be overly expensive and tricky for us.

I use the 62 tipped. Works great. Currently it's the only one available through my retailer. Maker wont send direct.

This is the 80 grn projectile from the above buck. Lodged just under the skin on the off side. Just an example of bullets other than the TMK being perfectly adequate. And this is the rib exit under the skin.
