OnX is my primary. I srill have my GPS at camp but normally don’t carry it in with me. The only downfall I see to OnX is if you haven’t already pre-downloaded your maps and you want to change up areas and don’t have signal....your SOL. So you have to forward think and download any possible areas...

Looks like a good line up. I think durability, ability to transport game, weight, and fit (for various body types) is huge. The ability to add additional gear (pockets, gun carries, etc) and comparability with various manufacturers will be great.

Work in Federal Law enforcement as primary and then have a horse business and guiding for a few outfitters on the side. Although looking like I’ll be opening up my own outfitter business to handle a private ranch here in NM.
Been looking for a good traditional myself for places like Idaho where you are limited on what you can shoot. I have being eye the Lyman Great Plains Hunter although in percussion cap setup.
I too run an Outdoorsmans tripod (medium) and will use it as a rifle rest. I sometimes use the kopfjager industries rest attached to it. It’s kinda heavy so sometimes a weight bag to help keep it sturdy hanging from the tripod.

I too drew unit 9 late season but for archery! Definitely will be going over to AZ to scout atleast once before the season and then again a few days before the season. Be nice to have a few spots to use as a starting point.
