Thinking I need a flintlock

So I've got another question...

The little piece of public I like to hunt for WT is an archery/shotgun area. Can a guy swap barrels out from a rifled barrel to a smooth 20 ga? Then shoot a slug/solid through it to appease the shotgun regulation? I just can't see buying an actual modern slug gun. Plus I do a lot of waterfowl hunting.

Lots of guys shoot .62 cal patched balls out of 20ga barrel. I’d check with the warden to make sure it is “legal” there. Seems you are handicapping yourself MORE doing that so it should be OK, but then again you cannot bow hunt in Iowa during shotgun season...

Been looking for a good traditional myself for places like Idaho where you are limited on what you can shoot. I have being eye the Lyman Great Plains Hunter although in percussion cap setup.
